Vance Ferguson
Vance Edward Ferguson, 66, of Soddy Daisy, died on Thursday, August 27, 2015.
Vance was a member of Mile Straight Baptist Church and the Crusaders Sunday School Class. He retired from DuPont and served his country in the Tennessee Army National Guard. A godly, Christian man, he loved people and was a unique individual who was secure with who he was. Vance was the best Papa to Noah and Gabriel and loved watching Noah play with the Chattanooga Generals and Gabriel play with the Middle Valley Predators.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Dorothy Ferguson; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alf Windham and relative, Gerald Alexander.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Scarlett Goss Ferguson; son and daughter-in-law, Van and Anna Ferguson; grandsons, Noah Ferguson and Gabriel Ferguson; father and mother-in-law, Dr. Al and Cherry Goss; sister-in-law, Clifta Hixson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tim and Krista Goss; Dr. Tommy and Melinda Goss, Jimmy and Elizabeth Goss and Dana and Garland Johnson; sisters, Karen and Cynthia; 16 nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Sunday, Aug. 30, at 2:30 p.m. at Mile Straight Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Goss officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Chad Hixson, Carlton Goss, Nick Goss, Jarrod Goss, Halston Duke and Luke Maxfield.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday from 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
