Younes, Mary Ella (Cleveland)

Mary Ella Younes, 80, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 at her residence.

She was a lifelong member of Cedar Springs Baptist Church where she was a former secretary and pianist. She had worked at the Bradley County Farm Service Agency for 34 years and had served as executive director for several years. She had also owned and operated apartments in Cleveland. She was an antique enthusiast. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Younes; parents, Joseph William “Willie” Poteet and Opal Sandidge Poteet; infant son, Glenn Younes; and daughter, Gwyn Truelove.

She is survived by her son, Wesley “Lynn” Younes of Cleveland; step-daughter, Gail Fell of Edgewater, FL; three grandchildren, Eric Brown and wife Missy of Cabot, AR, Aaron Brown and wife Theresa of Biloxi, MS and Meredith Sullivan and husband Clay of Shreveport, LA; two step-grandchildren, Tracy Trent and Beth Fell; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Patterson and Ruth Ann Freeman of Cleveland; special friend, Larry Younes of Cleveland; very special niece, Pam Howard of Cleveland; and several other nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31 at Cedar Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Leroy Elliott and Reverend Ricky Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Springs Cemetery. Randy Truelove, Eric Brown, Dewayne Cartwright, Aaron Brown, Johnny Patterson, and Kevin Stevens will serve as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and from 1-2 p.m. at the church prior to the service on Monday, Aug. 31.
