Madeline Smith, 94, of the Prater’s Mill Community in Georgia, died on Sunday, August 2, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milburn Smith; daughter, Sherron Wilson, parents, Ewin Hall, Sr. & Mattie Alice Hall; granddaughter, Sheila Souther; great-grandson, Scotty Havard; brothers, Ewin, Jr., Leonard, Eugene, Lester & Milburn Hall; sisters, Mamie Ogle, Della Vineyard, Minnie Hayes and Agnes McAllister; son-in-law, Lynn Souther. 

Mrs. Smith was a member of Deep Springs Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughters & sons-in-law, Annette Souther of Beaverdale, Glenda & Ronald Painter of Dalton, Donna & Larry Stevens of Dalton and Judy & Ralph Weaver of Rocky Face; sons & daughters-in-law, Larry & Pat Smith of Albany, Dewayne & Janice Smith of Rocky Face; Ricky & Carol Smith of the Prater’s Mill Community; son-in-law, Leon Wilson of Dalton; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. 

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples with Rev. Trammel Campbell and Rev. Dale Kidd officiating. Burial will be in the Good Hope Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Aug. 5 from 11 a.m. until the service time at 2 p.m.

Julian Peeples Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
