Woodrow Charles “Chuck” Parks, 69, died on August 29, 2015 at a local hospital. 

He was a graduate of Council Training High School and attended J. F. Drake Technical College, Huntsville. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was formerly employed with Digital Equipment Corporation as the field service manager; ACS, Arnold Air Force Base, as a principal engineer and also served in the U.S. Army, where he was awarded the Commendation Medal. He was also awarded the NASA Skylab Achievement Award.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henderson Parks and Odessa Steger and brother, Rev. Terry L. Parks.

Survivors include his loving wife, Geraldine Wherry Parks; sons, Reginald C. Parks and Shawn O. Parks; grandson, Jordan Parks, all of Chattanooga; step-father, Monroe Steger, Knoxville, TN; sisters, Vivian Steger, Atlanta; Carolyn (Dennis) Griffith, Knoxville, and Theresa Greene, Atlanta.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, in the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. on the day of service. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
