Jimmy Hood
Jimmy Lebrone Hood II, 33, died on Sunday, August 30, 2015.
He was born Sept. 9, 1981 (a square root baby), in Chattanooga. He was a valued employed of Volkswagen, Chattanooga. He graduated in 1999 from Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences and was an honor student. He received a full scholarship to attend the University of Tennessee at Knoxville to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering, and later served in the United States Navy.
He gave his life to Christ at an early age and was presently a member of New Covenant Fellowship Church. He truly loved the Lord, his family, and his career.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Hood, Sr.; grandparents, John and Ora B. Hood.
He is survived by his wife, Tabetha; his two sons, Tyson and Jaylon; mother, Rev. Dr. Marva A. Lee; sister, Nkenge J. Hood; grandmother, Rep. JoAnne Favors; grandfather, Marvin Lee; great-grandmother, Brittie Ervin; uncles, Randal Lee, Sr., John Hood, Gerald Hood; aunts, Kimberly Muhammad, Karen Lee; in-laws, Jack and Linda Manis; sister-in-law, Julie Manis; nephews, Micah and Milan Gillespie; nieces, Miyah, and twins, Malia, and Mariah Gillespie; a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins, friends.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, at New Covenant Fellowship Church with the eulogy by Pastor Bernie Miller and Reverend Dr. Richard Ervin officiating. Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens – East.
The body will lie in state after noon on Thursday, Sept. 3, and the family will receive friends from 6–8 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
