Charles McDaniel Edwards, 90, of Rome, Georgia, died on Monday, August 31, 2015, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Edwards was born on Aug. 13, 1925, in Summerville, Ga., son of the late John Dewey and Ethel Wofford Edwards. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, and prior to his retirement, was employed with General Motors.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his sisters-in-law, Mable Coley, Ralph and Opal Sumner, Elizabeth Wofford; a cousin, Billy Edwards; his friend, Teresa Welch; and his caregivers, Inez Rowland, Beverly Sharp, Barbara Sharp, Mary Phillips, and Roberta Ibbetson.
Funeral services for Mr. Edwards will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Martha Lamp officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Edwards will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from noon until the hour of service on Wednesday.
