Ryan Orr, 25, was arrested on Monday for aggravated domestic assault after beating his sister with a broom for eating his candy.
Responding officers said that they arrived at East Matlock Street on a call about a disturbance where they contacted the victim.
She said that the defendant kicked the door to her room off its hinges and came into her room, hitting her in the face with a broom and a backpack.
Police said the victim had several marks on her face and that the door was broken off. Another woman who was at the house witnessed the incident and also made a statement.
The officers also said that the defendant admitted to assaulting his sister and said that he was just upset because she had eaten his candy.
