Voices Of Lee To Host “Every Hallelujah” Concert

  • Thursday, September 10, 2015
Lee University’s Voices of Lee will host the “Every Hallelujah” concert on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the Conn Center. The concert will showcase the talents of Canton Junction, The Isaacs, Ivan Parker, and the Voices of Lee.

“We are thrilled to host such an outstanding line-up of gospel musicians,” said Danny Murray, director of Voices of Lee. “Canton Junction, the Isaacs, and Ivan Parker will bring some of the best gospel music you’ve heard in a long time. We are honored to share the stage with these friends.”

Canton Junction, a vocal quartet from Texas, is made up of lead singer Casey River, bass singer Tim Duncan, tenor Matthew Hagee, and baritone Ryan Seaton.
Their goal is to spread the word of God through music. The group’s musical style is also representative of many roads merging into one, and is the origin of their name. Audiences will hear influences that range from timeless hymns to the Eagles, from southern gospel to big band. Among the group’s repertoire are time-tested songs of the church and fresh new songs written out of their own experiences, as well as new takes on familiar classics.

Canton Junction has traveled the United States, Canada, Scotland, and Israel. They have released three albums: the self-titled debut, “Show Me Your Way,” “Every Hallelujah,” and a DVD, “Live at Cornerstone.”

The award-winning Issacs is a family group that began singing 35 years ago. The vocalists are mother Lily Isaacs, and siblings Ben Isaacs, Sonya Isaacs Yeary, and Rebecca Isaacs Bowman. They have won over seven Dove Awards in various categories and have had several Grammy nominations during their career.

The Isaacs perform frequently at the Grand Ole Opry, are active members on the Gaither Homecoming Videos and Concert Series, and travel internationally throughout the year to perform in countries such as South Africa, Norway, Holland, Scotland, Ireland, Israel, Canada and others.

Mr. Parker has recorded such hits as “I Choose,” “It’s True,” and “Midnight Cry,” which held the number one radio spot in Europe following its release. Parker was raised in Sanford, NC, and in 1982, joined the Singing Americans. In 1983 he became lead vocalist of the Dove Award-winning group the Gold City Quartet. As a member of Gold City, he was named Favorite Lead Vocalist by Singing News from 1988–1993, and was named Favorite Male Vocalist from 1989–1995 and 1997. He was inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 1993.

Celebrating 20 years of touring, the Voices of Lee have captivated audiences worldwide. Directed by Mr. Murray, this 15-member group is characterized by their unique variety of vocal harmonies. They have toured Europe with concerts at the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris and England’s Ely Cathedral and have been featured performers for Christmas at the White House in Washington D.C. Their convention appearances have taken them from Israel to Ontario and numerous U.S. cities.

The group was propelled into the international spotlight on the debut season of NBC’s Sing-Off, a competition of a cappella groups. Out of thousands of auditions, Voices of Lee was selected as one of eight groups to compete and was featured on four prime-time NBC network episodes.  After nationwide voting, Voices finished as second runner-up in the Sing-Off. They were also voted one of the favorite groups by the Contemporary A Cappella Society of America. In 2014 they were invited by the Chinese government as featured performers in the Shang Hai International Music Festival.
