Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Encourages Public To Be Vigilant On 9/11 Anniversary

  • Friday, September 11, 2015
Friday is the 14th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and in light of this occasion, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging the residents of Hamilton County to be vigilant and report any forms of suspicious behavior.

Since 9/11, law enforcement agencies around the nation have taken a proactive role in terrorism prevention and remain the first line of defense against acts of domestic terrorism.

Officials said, "The purpose of this public service announcement is not to incite fear or anxiety, rather to encourage the residents of our community to be aware of their surroundings and report any unusual behavior that may be taken as unlawful or injurious to the people of our county."

Any suspicious behavior or threats may be reported by calling 911 or by contacting a local law enforcement agency.

On this day, Sheriff Jim Hammond and the staff of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office would like to remember those who have lost their lives to acts of terrorism and encourage the community and keep their families in our thoughts and prayers.
