Blue Angels To Appear In Chattanooga On September 16
The United States Navy Blue Angels flight demonstration team will do a flyover at the Tribute on the River next Wednesday, September 16 at Ross’s Landing. The flyover should occur at 4:30 p.m. Flying F-18 aircraft, nearly 11 million spectators per year watch the precision flying team perform. Traditionally, slated to perform for major airshows, the Blues are scheduled to perform a flyover to honor the servicemen lost in the July 16th attacks. This extraordinary gesture brings the gratitude of the families, the State of Tennessee, and the City of Chattanooga.
Chattanooga Unite: A Tribute on the River is a benefit that includes a free concert is all part of a day-long celebration that will begin with an armed forces parade at 2PM. The parade route will travel down Broad Street to Aquarium Way to Chestnut Street ending at Ross’s Landing. Emceed by Chattanooga native Samuel L.
Jackson, the tribute will include a memorial ceremony. The Blue Angels are slated for a 4:30 flyover at Ross’s Landing. Harry Connick, Jr. will perform around 4:45 and country music artist Brantley Gilbert will follow. The night will conclude with a fireworks celebration.
In lieu of ticket fees, donations are encouraged through collection bins placed throughout the event. Funds collected will benefit The National Compassion Fund. Online donations can be made directly atwww.chattanoogaunite.org. Check the site for benefit updates as well.
