Peter Faulkner, formerly of Chattanooga, and former foundations relations manager for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, arrived on campus Sept. 1 as Brewton-Parker College’s new vice president of development.

Mr. Faulkner’s responsibilities include the directing of the college’s endowment and fundraising efforts, the administration of alumni affairs and the annual fund.

“Brewton-Parker welcomes Peter Faulkner as its new Vice President for Development,” said Brewton-Parker President Dr.

Steve Echols. “Mr. Faulkner comes to BPC with a very high level of experience in development work having most recently served as the Manager of Foundation Relations for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. In addition to a successful career in development work, he has had a number of years of experience in local church ministry in various positions including senior pastor. We are grateful that God has led Mr. Faulkner to BPC to help us work to secure the resources for fulfilling our mission of seeing the lives of students transformed both academically and spiritually for the glory of God. His joining the BPC team is another affirmation that great things are ahead for our school.”

During his time at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, mr. Faulkner was responsible for raising funds through foundations for crusades, the Billy Graham Exhibit at the North Carolina Museum of History, “My Hope” campaigns with churches, and other ongoing projects.

Prior to working at BGEA, Mr. Faulkner served as director of North American Ministries and Advancement at The Mailbox Club, International, in Valdosta, Ga. There he built relationships with churches, Christian organizations, major donors and foundations. Through The Mailbox Club and its subsidiary, Venture Clubs, he developed discipleship programs for children, teens, and adults across the USA.

In addition to his career in development, Mr. Faulkner has also served as pastor for over 25 years. His positions have included both executive pastor and youth pastor at Bible Center Church in Charleston, W.V., and pastor of People’s Baptist Church in Scott Depot, W.V. During this tenure, he volunteered 13 years as the chaplain of the South Central Regional Jail, a 500-bed facility in Charleston, W.V., where he coordinated 50 volunteers to disciple and mentor inmates. He was active in the Putnam County Rotary Club where he was honored as its first endowed Paul Harris Fellow.

He served six years at Tennessee Temple University, Chattanooga, as the public relations director. This entailed work in community, media, church and alumni relations, through writing articles, journals, photography, public speaking, brochures, slide show presentations and graphic design.

Mr. Faulkner holds a Master of Religious Education degree from Temple Baptist Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts in Bible from Tennessee Temple University. He is also a Certified Lifestyle Evangelism Trainer with Christian Business Men’s Committee in Chattanooga.
