Gideon and Hannah Musgrave
Two missing Soddy Daisy children were found Wednesday morning after a large search for the brother and sister, ages 4 and 7.
The children were located at 811 Sluder Road about two miles from their residence.
Authorities said they walked for miles in woods and briars with their dog by their side.
According to the Soddy Daisy Police Department, the children were in good condition. Hamilton County EMS responded to transport the children to Children's Hospital at Erlanger for further evaluation. The children suffered from bug bites, scratches and poison ivy.
They had been reported as last seen playing on the front porch of their home at 440 Depot St. on Tuesday night.
Police had been looking for Hannah Musgrave, 7, and her brother, Gideon.
They were the subject of an East Tennessee Endangered Child Alert.
They were last seen around 9 p.m.
Matthew was wearing camo pants with no shirt or shoes.
Hannah was wearing a purple shirt with a butterfly on the front. She had on a cream-colored skirt and also was without shoes.
Soddy Daisy Police searched all night, and on Wednesday morning searchers were divided into four teams.
Amy Maxwell of Hamilton County EMS said Wednesday morning, "As of 8 a.m., there are four crews that have gone to designated locations. They are as follows..... (1) the junk yard. Crews will search each vehicle and mark the driver's door when each car has been thoroughly searched. (2) children's residence. Research the residence and vehicles surrounding the home. (3) grandparents house. Researching the house and vehicles. The house is located about 1/4 of a mile south from the children's home. (4) crews searching the trails from Sluder Road to Mowbray Pike.
"Currently, Emergency Services agencies assisting with the search are as follows, Special Tactics and Rescue Services (STARS), Hamilton County Emergency Services, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA), Tennessee State Parks, Soddy Daisy Fire Department, Soddy Daisy Police Department, Sale Creek Fire Department, Mowbray VFD, Dallas Bay VFD, Walden's Ridge Emergency Services, Sequoyah VFD, and Chattanooga Hamilton County Rescue. Currently, there are 45 personnel on the scene to assist with the search.
"We want to encourage the general public to be on the lookout for these two children in the Soddy Daisy area."
