Luken Communications has announced the addition of Haven and Murdoch Mysteries to the Retro TV programming lineup. Both series will debut on Retro TV later this fall.
Haven, a supernatural drama series based loosely on Stephen King’s The Colorado Kid, follows the bizarre happenings in the fictional sleepy town of Haven, Maine. The show stars Emily Rose (ER, Graceland) as an FBI agent working to help townsfolk who begin exhibiting supernatural powers while becoming embroiled in the mystery herself. The supporting cast includes Lucas Bryant (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), Nicholas Campbell (Rookie Blue, Orphan Black, Da Vinci’s Inquest) and Eric Balfour (24, Conviction). Haven was created by Jim Dunn and Sam Ernst.
Murdoch Mysteries, based on the series of novels by Maureen Jennings, tells the story of turn-of-the-century police detective William Murdoch, as he investigates crimes using ground-breaking techniques, and meeting luminaries like H.G. Wells, Houdini and the Wright Brothers. Yannick Bisson (Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye, Flashpoint) stars as Detective Murdoch alongside Thomas Craig (Casualty, Where the Heart Is), Helene Joy (Heartland, The Outer Limits), Jonny Harris and Lachlan Murdoch (The Outer Limits).
Matt Golden, Luken's vice president of Programming, said, "We are thrilled to introduce Haven and Murdoch Mysteries to the Retro TV lineup, alongside our other critically-acclaimed science fiction, fantasy and mystery shows. From a Victorian-era detective to uncovering long-held secrets of the past, these series are sure to find a home with the Retro TV audience."
