The Navy Birthday Ball is a time-honored tradition celebrating the foundation of the Continental Navy on Oct. 13, 1775. From the humble beginning as a two-vessel contingent employed to protect coastal regions, today’s 273-ship Naval force continues to defend the United States and protect the freedom of seas worldwide.
