Kenneth Gamble
Charles Kenneth Gamble, 83, of Chattanooga, died on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in a local hospital.
He was born Dec. 15, 1931, in Chattanooga to the late Charles and Ruby Gamble.
He was a United States Marine veteran serving in the Korean War where he received the Purple Heart.
Mr. Gamble retired from the Chattanooga Police Department after 33 years of service. He also served four years on the Chattanooga Fire Department.
He was a member of the Limestone Masonic Lodge #176 in Birchwood, Tn. He had served as Past Master of the Fidelity and Limestone Lodges. Kenneth was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Margaret F. Gamble; one daughter, Janice (Jimmy) Pierce of Ringgold; one son, Brent (Gayle) Gamble of Signal Mountain; two sisters, JoAnn DeFriese of Chattanooga; Donna Hill of Marietta, Georgia; five grandchildren, Wesley Pierce, Kevin (Heather) Pierce, Anna (Keith) Rawlston, Andrew Gamble and Aaron Gamble; and three great-grandchildren, Maddox Pierce, Mays Rawlston, and Cade Rawlston.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. in the North Chapel. Interment will follow at McInturff Cemetery in Birchwood with Masonic Services.
