Tickets for the 28th Annual Ruby Hurley Image Award Gala are now available online. This year is also the NAACP Diamond Jubilee Year, the 75th Anniversary of service to the Chattanooga Hamilton County Area.
The event will be held at the Chattanooga Convention Center on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m.
The guest speaker will be Rev. Dr. Ernest L. Reid who is the new pastor of Second Missionary Baptist Church. Dr. Reid is a minister and pastor and he was the former NAACP president in Reading, Pa.
The evening will include a tribute to James R. Mapp and a documentary highlighting the NAACP's history and individuals that made an impact during the civil rights era. Past presidents of the NAACP and individuals who have contributed to the Civil Rights movement will also be highlighted.
Tickets may be purchased online with a credit card or a debit card and then printed. Officials are anticipating the event will be sold out.
