Members of the Whitfield County Fire Department served as buddies to help the Miracle League during the 2015 fall baseball season.
“WCFD did a great job as buddies,” Miracle League Co-Director Millie Hicks said. “They always take such good care of our players, our players love them, and they always make sure our players have a great time. We are so grateful for their support, not only as buddies, but for their presence at the Miracle Field every game day.”
The Miracle League has grown to more than 120 players and eight teams, with steady growth in new players every season, said officials.
“We began with only 55 players in 2012, so we are excited that people are learning more about us and signing up,” Ms. Hicks said. “Beyond Dalton and Whitfield County, we have players from all over the area, including Chatsworth, Calhoun, Adairsville, Summerville, Chattanooga and Cleveland.”
The fall season opened on Sept. 12 and will continue every Saturday through Oct. 31.
