Anthony Luke, 35, was arrested on Thursday after he allegedly robbed his wife’s friend at gunpoint on East 37th Street.

The victim said that Luke contacted her because he couldn’t find his wife and he wanted her to ride along with him to help find her.

She said that she agreed and got into a blue PT Cruiser that he was driving.

While they were riding together, she asked if he could stop somewhere so she could use the bathroom, so he stopped at a residence on the 2900 block of East 37th street and then went inside.

She said he was gone for a short time before he came back out, brandishing a handgun and demanding her money.

The victim cooperated and handed over $756 and Luke left again.

She said that a short time later, he called her to say she could use the bathroom, but when she started walking toward the residence, she heard the vehicle start up and drive off.

At that point she walked to the Mapco on Rossville Boulevard to report the robbery. During a police interview, she was able to identify Luke out of a photo lineup as the suspect who robbed her.
