Youth Blast 2015 Will Be Held Friday And Saturday At UTC

The Southeast Tennessee Health Consortium, in collaboration with 18 Chattanooga-area organizations will present Youth Blast 2015: On a Quest for the Best, on Friday and Saturday at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, 615 McCallie Ave. 

This free event for youth in grades 6-12, is a two-day conference with opportunities to explore various topics relevant to the adolescent experience. The workshops and activities are designed to empower youth to be the best in their academics, familial relationships, social interactions, etc. 

In addition to the youth workshops, there will be sessions for parents to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to parent today's teenager and to encourage positive relationships with their teens.

Youth Blast 2015 will begin on Friday night with a Youth Extravaganza from 7-9 p.m.
in the UTC Auditorium with performances by New Orleans Rapper Dee 1, singer Daryl Wheeler and a Step Show by UTC's Lamda Iota of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc.

Youth Blast 2015 will continue on Saturday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the UTC University Center.  The keynote speaker will be New Orleans Rapper Dee 1.  Topics will include:

? Keep Your Head, Heels & Standards High
? Social Media: The Dirty Truth
? Girl Meets World (Girls Only)
? Boy Meets World (Boys Only)
? Dating with Values
