Wilma Ritchie
Wilma Loy Ritchie, 94, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, September 2, 2015.
Mrs. Ritchie was born in Campbell County, Tn., but lived most of her adult life in Chattanooga. She worked as a hair stylist at Miller’s Department Store and as an instructor at the Rutledge School of Beauty before retiring to be a true homemaker and caregiver. She enjoyed growing flowers, especially roses, doing projects around the house and creating beautiful needlework items.
She was a member of Silverdale Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wiley M. Loy; mother, Carrie H. Loy; brother, Lawrence C. Loy; beloved husband of 42 years, Ples A. Ritchie and nephew, James Bible.
Survivors include her sister, May Gregory; nieces, Martha Mitteness, Linda Wooden and Gloria Bible.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, at Tyner Cemetery with Reverend Walter Hicks officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5–7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
