Charlotte Marie Allen, 89, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 in a local health care facility.

Mrs. Allen was the daughter of the late Dora Dean Pinkerton Hicks and John M. Hicks; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill B. Allen; her daughter-in-law, Sandy Allen; and her sister, Cleo Christine Short.

Mrs. Allen was retired from the CBC Pharmacy in Calhoun, TN with many years of service. She was a member of the Calhoun Lioness Club and the Charleston Chapter of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Allen was a long time member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Judy Barrett and her husband C. B. of Calhoun, TN, John B. Allen and his wife Debbie of Riceville, TN, Sandra Dixon, Fred Allen and his wife Judy, Charles Allen and his wife Diane and Mike Allen all of Charleston, TN; her 24 grandchildren; her 37 great-grandchildren; her seven great-great-grandchildren; and her special niece, Patricia Mitchell of Madisonville, TN.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Friday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. from the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, North Ocoee Chapel with Reverend Kevin Chetham officiating. Opening scripture and prayer will be given by her grandson Ronald Barrett.

Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5 in the Calhoun Cemetery at Calhoun First Baptist Church with her grandsons, Joe Barrett, Gary Dixon, Billy Allen, Michael Allen, Robert Allen, Steven Allen, Nathan Woody and her great grandson, Aaron Lewis serving as active casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be her grandsons, John Allen Jr., David Dixon, Chris Allen Godsey, great-grandsons, Casey Allen, Tyler Allen, Adam Dixon, Bradley Dixon, Derrick Dixon, Will Burgess, Tyler Barrett and Dawson Allen.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Signature Healthcare Quality of Life Department 2750 Executive Park Dr. N. W. Cleveland, TN 37312 or to Calhoun First Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 175, Calhoun, TN 37309.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4 at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
