A 31-year-old man was already jailed without bond when new felony counts were filed in an unrelated burglary investigation.

Sheriff Eric Watson said citizen input was helpful identifying Daniel Ray Lee Howard as a suspect in the burglary of a home on Leamington Lane.

Household items including electronics, appliances, clothing, and jewelry were taken that the homeowner valued at $22,000.

During an investigation by the criminal investigations division of the sheriff’s office, new charges of burglary and theft over $10,000 were filed in General Sessions Court.

Howard remains in custody without bond on a previous charge.

At his arraignment hearing Friday bond for the new BCSO charges was set at $35,000. Detectives are continuing the investigation.

Sheriff Watson said, “I am continually amazed and gratified by how many cases our patrol division and CID have been able to clear with citizens’ help. Once again I appreciate greatly the assistance alert citizens give the Bradley County Sheriff’s office daily.”
