Five Chattanooga Lookouts (75-59) recorded at least one RBI in the team's 8-2 win over the Jackson Generals (51-83).
The Lookouts had a terrific night as they prepare for the Southern League playoffs. They got a strong start from David Hulbut. The southpaw went the first seven innings.
He gave up two runs on six hits. He walked three and struck out three.
Hurlbut earned his team-high 11th win of the season.
Alex Wimmers and Nick Burdi both struck out two in perfect innings.
Nearly everyone contributed to the offensive output. Shannon Wilkerson went 3-5 and stole his 10th base. Stuart Turner was 3-4. Niko Goodrum went 2-4 with a walk. Dalton Hicks and Heiker Meneses each had two hits. Adam Brett Walker hit his 31st double. Max Kepler was 0-2, but he walked three times.
The scoring began for Chattanooga in the second when Stuart Turner singled home Levi Michael. Niko Goodrum scored on the next play when Heiker Meneses hit a RBI single of his own.
Jackson tied it up in the third, but the Lookouts added two in the bottom of that inning on a two-run single by DJ Hicks. The team expanded their lead to six an inning later when Walker doubled home a run and an error plated two more. The team scored their final run in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Jorge Polanco.
With the series now tied at one game a piece the two team's return Saturday to AT&T Field for a
