The Chattanooga Lookouts (76-60) battled back from seven down to defeat the Jackson Generals (52-84) 11-10 in 10 innings in front of a raucous crowd on Fan Appreciation night.
Trailing 8-1 in the sixth inning the Lookouts showed signs of life when they drew two straight walks to start the inning. They began to chip away when Travis Harrison singled home Jorge Polanco and Adam Brett Walker hit a sacrifice fly to make it 8-3.
The team cut the deficit down to three on a Jairo Rodriguez two-run single.
The Lookouts comeback was underway, but got off track in the seventh inning when Leon Landry delivered a two-run single to increase Jackson's lead back up to five. In the seventh the Lookouts continued to claw back into the game when Shannon Wilkerson tripled and scored on a passed ball.
With two outs and a runner on second in the eighth inning the Lookouts made their final push. Stephen Wickens plated the first run with a single to third and then proceeded to steal second and score on a Wilkerson single. Wilkerson crossed home on a Polanco double to bring the team within one run. The tying run in the inning was delivered by League MVP Max Kepler who belted a single up the middle.
The game remained knotted at 10 until the bottom of the 10th inning when a throwing error brought home Stephen Wickens. The win was the team's 25th one-run victory of the season and 34th at home.
