Mini Maker Faire Chattanooga Announces Performance By Eepybird At Event On Sept. 19

  • Tuesday, September 8, 2015
The team known for development of the now-famous “Extreme Diet Coke & Mentos Experiments” will be on hand at this year’s Mini Maker Faire Chattanooga on Saturday, Sept. 19 with performances at 1 and 4 p.m.  Fritz Grobe and Stephen Voltz will don their lab coats and drop 624 Mentos into 104 two-liter bottles of Diet Coke, creating geysers of soda that will erupt over 25 feet into the air.  "This unbelievable candy-powered performance is reminiscent of the famous Bellagio fountains in Las Vegas," officials said.

Located at the First Tennessee Pavilion, guests and makers alike will enjoy watching this extreme performance that has been viewed by over 150 million people on line and at performances.
Mr. Grobe and Mr. Voltz have performed on The Late Show with David Letterman, Ellen, Mythbusters, Time Warp and more.  Their performances have taken them to Istanbul, Las Vegas, London, Paris, and even to Wall Street.

Eepybird is a company that explores creativity and the ways in which everyday objects can do extraordinary things.  By example, their video, “The Extreme Sticky Note Experiments,” transformed over 250,000 sticky notes into cascading waterfalls of color and generated over 4 million views online since September 2008.

Graham Bredemeyer of Mini Maker Faire Chattanooga said, “We have some amazing makers to introduce to Chattanooga this year; however, the addition of Eebybird raises the bar for makers and attendees to an all-new high.  This performance has to be seen to be believed and I hope the public will come out and enjoy it.”

This is the second annual Mini Maker Faire for Chattanooga and occurs on Saturday, Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the First Tennessee Pavilion.  This year’s faire is open to the public and free of charge.
