Officials said it will be part of Erlanger's Comprehensive Cancer Treatment Center

It will be located on the ground floor adjacent to the Radiation Oncology Department.

The move will allow 38 chairs for radiation treatment compared to the current 32.

The total project cost will be just over $2.5 million.

Officials said the demand for oncology services is expected to rise by 29 percent over the next 10 years.

That space currently houses two private physician offices as well as some space now used by the Chattanooga Tumor Center..
