James Winnie, 38, Arrested For Domestic Assault

Just after midnight on Monday, the Chattanooga Police Fugitive Division in coordination with the U.S. Marshals, Catoosa County SO and GA State Patrol located and arrested James Winnie on warrants for attempted first-degree murder (domestic), possession of a firearm, felony reckless endangerment.

 

The charges stem from an incident which happened on Saturday, when Winnie drove to 3113 6th and started a a verbal disorder with Jessica Winne, his estranged wife, and her brother. The disorder then escalated and the suspect fired his gun at Ms. Winnie. She was shot and suffered non-life threatening injuries. She was transported to an area hospital by HCEMS. Winnie fled the scene.

 He was located at the Super 8 Motel in Ringgold. He was taken into custody without incident. Also located in the motel room was approximately one ounce of meth. He was booked into Catoosa County Jail and awaits extradition on the warrants.
