Linda Carol Hughes, 67, of Hixson, died on Monday, January 25, 2016.

She was of the Baptist Faith. Linda was the 1994 Women’s Bass Fishing World Champion. She also won several local and national bass tournaments throughout her career. But most of all, Linda was a very loving wife, mother and nanny. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Zella Carter, and a sister, Gloria Long. 

Linda is survived by her husband of 48 years, Gary Hughes; her daughter, Buffy Hughes; her granddaughter, Kylee Hughes; a brother, David Carter and several nieces and nephews. 

Linda loved flowers and her flower garden, however, if you choose not to send flowers, please send memorial donations to: Alhambra Shrine Transportation Fund, 1000 Alhambra Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421. 

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor Nate Click officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
