Experience Counts In Race For Criminal Court Judge

  • Wednesday, January 27, 2016

Due to the rising crime rate and the recent events in Ooltewah, I have spent more time considering the candidates for Criminal Court judge than I have other local elections in recent years. We must elect someone to that position who can balance the law with a sense of justice in our community – someone who has prosecuted crimes, counseled would-be criminals and represented victims. There is only one candidate who has those qualifications.

Boyd Patterson was the original leader of the Gang Task Force before Mayor Berke replaced it with another program. In that role, Boyd Patterson studied the motivations behind gang behavior to more effectively work with law enforcement and the justice system to realize a change. He did the same as a counselor to troubled youth before embarking on career as a Hamilton County prosecutor.

More than 20 years and 50 jury trials later Boyd Patterson has more criminal court experience than anyone else running for Criminal Court judge.

Boyd Patterson has spent his career studying human behavior and the law, prosecuting crimes and representing victims. That unique experience makes him the best choice for Criminal Court judge.
