Moore, Rebecca Margaret "Midge"

Rebecca Margaret “Midge” Moore, 91, of Ringgold, died on Friday, January 8, 2016 at her residence. 

She had lived most of her life in Rossville and was a member of the Unity Church of Christianity in Chattanooga.  In 1966 she bought the Dream Cream in Rossville and she operated it for over 35 years with many of her family working by her side.  She was very innovative in her thinking coming up with many different and amazing ideas for the Dream Cream.  Midge was loved by all who knew her and she will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Claudia Denton; parents, Benjamin and Claudia Hyatt; and brothers, Benjamin Hyatt and Joseph Hyatt.

Survivors include her children, John DeFreitas, Jim (Brenda) DeFreitas, and Jack (Jen) Moore; brothers, Phillip Hyatt and John Hyatt; step-mother, Frances Hyatt; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Rebecca’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
