New Fires Jump Fire Breaks On Roberts Mill Road

A stubborn brush fire continued to burn on Walden's Ridge on Tuesday. At 10 a.m.. the Tennessee Forestry Division requested a Mutual Aid Response for assistance on Roberts Mill Road brush fires. 

Tennessee Forestry officials reported the fire had jumped breaks from the five acres burning Monday and was burning on the mortheast end and southwest end of the town of Signal Mountain. Officials said the terrain burning is all woodlands, and there is no structure endangerment.

The Tennessee Forestry Division had bulldozers in the woods creating new fire breaks and was using a helicopter to make water drops on the fires off the bluffs. 

Those agencies responding to assist Tennessee Forestry were: Walden's Ridge Emergency Services, Mowbray Volunteer Fire Department, Lone Oak Volunteer Fire Department, Sequoyah Volunteer Fire Department, STARS, and Bradley County Fire Rescue. Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department is monitoring the valley area.  Signal Mtn Fire Department continues covering all of the mountain for any additional emergency calls. No injuries have been reported and no evacuations are necessary.

Roberts Mill Road is open up and down the mountain.
