UTC Hosts "Take Back The Night Chattanooga" To Stand Against Sexual Violence

  • Wednesday, October 12, 2016

"Take Back the Night Chattanooga" is an internationally recognized event that is a visible stand against sexual violence, specifically violence against women. The U.S. Department of Justice's National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) reports that every two minutes a sexual assault is reported.

It will begin at 6 p.m. on Oct. 26 at UTC’s Chamberlain Field. A keynote speaker will share their story and a march through the Historic Fort Wood Historic District will commence to raise awareness about these issues in our community. There will be a candlelight vigil to remember those who have fallen from violence immediately following the march.
