Mina Jo Callahan, 75, of Dalton, Georgia, died on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the local hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 31, 1941 in Dalton, to the late John and Mary Ruth Ridley Morgan; and was also preceded by brothers and sister-in-law, George Morgan, Samuel and Glenda Morgan; son-in-law, Douglas Manis; and a granddaughter Morgan Palmer.
She was a member of the 11th Avenue Baptist Church.
Mina is survived by her loving husband Ronald “Buddy” Callahan of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Larry Hightower of Chatsworth, GA, Holly Manis of Chatsworth, GA, Brenda and Allen Palmer of Dalton, GA and Jean and Jeremy Smith of Cohutta, GA; a son and daughter-in-law, Rande and Lisa Harness of Dalton; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Lois Morgan of Ringgold, GA, Ricky and Christine Morgan of Chatsworth, GA and Donny Morgan of Chatsworth, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Donald Newton of Chatsworth, GA, Billy Ruth and Eddie Craig of Chatsworth and Juanita and Ed Choate of Dalton, GA; and sister-in-law, Oma Harness Morgan; 14 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, Oct. 14 from 5-9 p.m. at the Ponders Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
