Lee Volleyball Falls 3-1 To Florida Tech

 The Lee volleyball team finished the South Region Crossover at 1-2 overall after dropping its final match of the weekend to Embry Riddle, 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore bopper Silvia Sartori led both sides with 19 kills in the contest. The Serbian native also added 15 digs. Catherine Conley and Brooke Wilsman joined Sartori in double-figure slams with 11 and 10 respectively.

Sadie Johnson pitched in 27 assists while Makayla Beebe added 19 digs.

The Eagles, who defeated Lee earlier in the season, jumped out to the early advantage with a 25-22 win in set one.
The two teams exchanged blows in set two but Embry Riddle came out on top 25-23. The Lady Flames won set three 25-23 but stumbled in set four, falling 25-16.

Amanda Saunders had 19 kills and eight digs to pace the Eagles effort. McKenna James managed 11 slams and Theresa Jordan hammered home seven. Jordan Nakayama paired with Aylssa Rudd to combine for 44 team assists.

The Embry Riddle had a decided edge in blocks over Lee, 17.5 to 3.

The Lady Flames fall to 8-10 on the season while the Eagles improve to 9-7. Lee will jump back into Gulf South Conference play with a Tuesday home date against Union at 7 p.m.

The Lee volleyball team suffered a 3-1 defeat to Florida Tech on Saturday morning at the South Region Crossover Tournament.

The Lady Flames were led by 11 kills and 14 digs from Silvia Sartori. Brooke Wilsman joined Sartori in double-figure slams with 10.

Sadie Johnson set the offense up with 25 assists and also added 10 digs to aid the defensive effort. Libero Makayla Beebe led the team with 20 digs.

Florida Tech (4-11) avenged a straight set loss to the Lady Flames earlier in the season. The Panthers jumped out to a 25-18 advantage in the first set and held on for a hard-fought 25-23 win in set two. Lee would claim the third set 25-20 before dropping the fourth set and the match, 25-17.

Olivia Hersey paced the Panthers with 16 kills. Jenna Schaffer added 12 slams and 15 digs. Kiersten Rosa did a little bit of everything with 45 assists, 12 digs and six kills.
