Former Heavyweight Champion Evander Holyfield Travels To Chattanooga To Endorse Joe Smith

  • Saturday, October 15, 2016

Former world heavyweight boxing champion Evander Holyfield made a stop in Chattanooga to speak to citizens of Hamilton County District 3 to endorse Joe Smith for County Commission. The event, held at Valleybrook Golf and Country Club, hosted more than 140 supporters who came out to support Mr. Smith and meet the night's special guest.

“The reason I took the time out of my schedule to come to Chattanooga is because we need people like Joe Smith in leadership. If anyone can knock out politics as usual, Joe Smith can,” said Evander Holyfield as he spoke to the crowd.

In response, candidate for commission Smith stated, “It humbles me to have Evander’s support. I have known Evander for over a decade and it says a lot for him to come here to Hixson and support what we are trying to do here in District 3. To have so many friends and supporters here is a true honor.”
