Southern Adventist University invites the public to celebrate the institution’s 100th year in Collegedale, Tn.
A fall festival and centennial celebration will be held on Sunday, Oct. 30, from 2-5 p.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial Park in Collegedale.
The free event will feature many activities for all ages, including live music, games, gymnastics performances, food vendors, and an antique car show.
Southern, founded in 1892 in Graysville, Tn., first moved to Collegedale in 1916. Then known as Southern Training School, the college enrolled 57 students that first year in Collegedale. Now the school is a nationally accredited university with nearly 3,000 students pursuing degrees ranging from associate to doctoral.
Ranked “Top Tier” by U.S. News & World Report for 15 consecutive years, Southern was named a top ten institution for “Best Value” in Tennessee.
In case of poor ground conditions, the festival will be moved to the Collegedale Community Church’s parking lot at 9305 Four Corners Place in Collegedale. If rain persists, the event will be cancelled.
