While the majority of Hamilton County students enjoyed the week off for Fall Break, 38 Hamilton County students spent their week “on” by participating in The Bethlehem Center’s Leadership Unit (B.L.U.) Boot Camp.  These students were selected to participate as a result of their academic achievement and are recognized student leaders from Howard, Brainerd, Tyner, Central, Lookout Valley, Hixson High Schools and East Lake Academy and Orchard Knob Middle School.

Throughout the five-day camp, students were exposed to the concepts of servant and student leadership and entrepreneurship.
Each day, students participated in team building workshops than taught them to work in a unit as well as worked with the educators from the Black Wall Street Tour in an effort to motivate them to take control of their lives and make better decisions.

For more information about B.L.U. or to learn about volunteer opportunities at the Bethlehem Center, email Brian Allen at ballen@thebeth.org or call (423) 266-1384, ext. 5.
