For the first time in the Division III era of the program, the Covenant women's soccer team has been regionally ranked by the National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA). The Lady Scots are No. 10 in this week's South Atlantic region poll.
Covenant is the only USA South member in the rankings.
Covenant (13-2, 11-1 USA South) moved into the rankings after going 3-0 last week with shut out victories over Maryville (1-0), Wesleyan (3-0) and Agnes Scott (2-0). Following the week, senior Kaitlyn Winking was tabbed as the USA South Defensive Player of the Week.
On the week, Covenant allowed just two shots on goal and saw its shutout streak reach over 564 game minutes.
The Lady Scots have compiled six straight shutouts, the second-longest streak in program history, and hold a 0.40 goals against average for the year. Overall, Covenant has won seven straight matches.
Covenant will finish the regular season this weekend at Piedmont (Friday) and at Salem (Saturday).
