Flu Vaccine Clinic Saturday At CHI Memorial Convenient Care - Cleveland

  • Thursday, October 20, 2016

CHI Memorial Convenient Care – Cleveland will host a flu vaccine clinic on Saturday from 9-11 a.m.

Regular flu vaccines will be available for ages four and up. Those 65 and older are eligible for the high dose vaccine, which will also be offered at this location.  Most insurance companies will pay 100 percent of the cost.  The vaccine is $25 for those who don’t have insurance.

No appointment is necessary to receive the flu vaccine.  You must be fever free to get the vaccine.

Anyone who gets the flu shot will be asked to wait about 15 minutes after receiving the shot to make sure there are no adverse reactions.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends everyone age six months old and older get a flu vaccine each year. Once you receive the vaccine, it takes about two weeks for your body to develop antibodies and provide protection against the flu.  Flu activity usually peaks between December and February, according to the CDC.

CHI Memorial Convenient Care - Cleveland is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.  It is in the Mouse Creek - Publix Center at 645 Paul Huff Parkway NW, Ste. 105 in Cleveland.  Call 423-790-7750 for more information.
