Chattanooga Traditional Dance Society Holds Contra Dance Saturday

  • Thursday, October 20, 2016
Chattanooga Traditional Dance Society presents its monthly Contra Dance featuring calling by Charlotte Crittendon and music by Christie Burns on Saturday from 7:30-11 p.m., at Brainerd United Methodist Church, Lundy Hall, 4315 Brainerd Road in Chattanooga. Admission is $8; $5 for students.

"Everyone is invited to join our welcoming, family-friendly community and enjoy this lively, traditional social dance. No partners are necessary. All dances are taught in walk-throughs. Toe-tapping live music makes even sitting out enjoyable.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes and bring an extra pair of clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing. Hard-soled boots or shoes are not allowed on the dance floor. There is always a contra basics lesson for newcomers at the beginning of the dance, so plan to arrive early," organizers said.
