Vote Matthew DeGlopper For A Better East Ridge

  • Friday, October 21, 2016

While attending the East Ridge candidate forum it quickly became clear that Matthew DeGlopper was the best person for the job.  He was the best prepared to speak about the issues facing this city.  While others read from notes and didn't seem to understand the question, Mr. DeGlopper not only answered the question but gave lots of additional details that helped explain why this was an issue.

You could hear in his voice the passion he has for making East Ridge a better place to live.  He has two children in East Ridge Elementary and wants them to grow up in a city that is safe.  He understands the crime problem facing our city and unlike the others, doesn't want to lower the standards of our tests.  He says East Ridge should have the best officers and I agree.

He knew tons of information about the Border Region Act, which will make East Ridge grow.  He talked about how money needs to be freed up to improve properties so we can attract the best restaurants and retail establishments.  Mr. DeGlopper has a head for business and sees where the issues are.

He understands clearly that East Ridge residents can't afford more taxes.  I think his idea to eliminate wasteful spending is long overdue.

We need a person like Mr. DeGlopper who's smart and has lots of common sense.  His promise to not take part in illegal secret meetings is a huge step in the right direction.  It's time to bring fresh ideas like these to the council.

If you watch the video of the forum you will see what I saw that there is only one person who's ready to sit on the council on day one.

For a better East Ridge Matthew DeGlopper has my vote.
