Cooper, Isaac James and Lucas Hunt

  • Friday, October 21, 2016

Isaac James Cooper, 8 months old, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016 and joined his twin brother, Lucas Hunt Cooper, 5 days old, who passed away February 25, 2016.

Isaac and Lucas incredible journey has touched thousands of hearts across our community.  They exuded the meaning of community, unity, determination, bravery and mostly, the power of love. They made us all a little more accepting, a little more kind and dismantled walls that precipitated a community being a little fuller of love.

Lucas' very short life taught us that we must be present in every single second we have to experience life.

Isaac was a strong little warrior and a tiny soul that captured the hearts of every human that had the opportunity to care for him on his journey.

We are forever grateful for the impact these two little boys made on our lives.

Isaac and Lucas are survived by their loving mothers, Kat and Krista Cooper;  grandparents, Hunt and Linda Cooper;  great-grandmother, Barbara Jean Cooper all of Chattanooga; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Matt Nevels and Marcus Ellsworth speaking.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Nooga Diversity Center, PO Box 4072, Chattanooga, TN  37405.  All donations will be used to construct a brick and mortar facility for all our community to bring about a greater equality, celebrate diversity, and provide a safe haven for LGBTQ homeless and individuals in need.  The boys truly buoyed the meaning of love and acceptance that conquers all human divisions.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Oct. 29  from  5-7  p.m. at the East Brainerd Chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
