Robert “Bob” Gill, 90, of Signal Mountain, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016.
He was born in East St. Louis, IL to the late Claude and Vashti Dean Gill. Bob served our country in the United States Navy. He was a member of Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church. Bob was an avid golfer and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine Gunter Gill; and daughter, Susan Elaine Roberts.
Bob is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Ken Smith; grandchildren, James (Carol) Dodds, IV, Alise (Steve) Duffendack, David (Tami) Roberts, Laura Roberts and Robert Dodds; ten great-grandchildren; and sister Cynthia (Owen) Myers.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 24 at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, 612 James Blvd., Signal Mountain, TN 37377. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home and 10-11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 24 at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church.
