CCS Wins Big Over Grace Academy 42-14

The Chargers of CCS rebounded from a region loss at Red Bank last week to beat  Grace Academy 42-14.   CCS scored 35 of their 42 points in the first half. 

Justin Wheeler had a pair of touchdown runs to lead the Chargers.  Wheeler finished with 72 yards on eight carries.  

Ian Gaines, Rashun Evans and Zach Van Meter also had touchdown runs.  Evans led the Chargers with 82 yards on seven carries.  

CCS quarterback Matthew Mercer only threw three passes and completed two for 74 yards including a 20 yard pass to Ben Moore in the endzone. 

Grace quarterback Jared Thompson was 9 of 18 passing for 66 yards.  Thompson also rushed for 86 yards on 10 carries.

Grace's Cade Tinsley rushed 11 times for 137 yards including touchdown runs of 51 and 61 in the fourth quarter.  

CCS will host East Ridge next week and Grace will host S. Pittsburg.
