Angela Blondell Young, 66, of Chattanooga, died on Friday, October 21, 2016 in a local hospital.

She was born on Feb. 27, 1950, in Chattanooga to the late Jesse C. and Gertrude Ware. Angela was a 1968 graduate of Riverside High School Trojans where she was a majorette. She also loved dancing and was a member of the Brainerd Recreation Center Line Dance Group. Just before passing, she accepted the challenge of trying to teach her husband how to line dance. Angela spent her employment history with two companies, Sather’s and SCT Yarns. Angela’s hobbies related to collecting hummingbird figurines and lots and lots of fashion clothing and shoes.

Angela accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Hawkinsville Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a church mother and also loved working with the Kitchen Committee. Angela had a quiet voice, but a cheerful heart and would gladly do for anyone.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Charles T. Young, Jr.; sons, Charles Chavis, Jr. and Carlos C. Young; daughter, Alicia Young, all of Chattanooga; two brothers, Jesse (Bonnie) Ware and George V. Ware; and sister, Jacqueline (Aubrey) Brooks, all of Chattanooga; mother-in-law, Ruby Young; Godmother, Mattie Brown; grandchildren, Charles Chavis, III, Chelsea Chavis, and Dynasty Young; in-laws, Drucilla (Walter) Davis, Brunella Peterson, Luwana (Bruce) Swann, and Geneitha (Verdis) Johnson, all of Chattanooga, and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  

Visitation will be on Friday, Oct. 28, from 6-7 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.  

Funeral services will be on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. at Hawkinsville Missionary Baptist Church, with Dr. Bobby Hampton, as the eulogist.  Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
