James LeBron “J.L.” Hyde
James LeBron “J.L.” Hyde, age 82, of Hixson, died Sunday, October 23, 2016.
J.L. was born in Chattanooga to the late J.M. and Lois S. Hyde. He was a 1953 graduate of Lakeview High School and the American Bankers Association Graduate School of Retail Bank Management, University of Virginia. J.L. served our country in the United States Army. He was employed in 1971 by American National Bank and Trust Company, were he served as branch officer and manager of the Park Central Branch since 1979. He then retired from SunTrust Bank. J.L. was a longtime member of Abba’s House, where he was a greeter and usher for many years.
J.L. is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patricia Pinson Hyde; sons, Mike (Norma Jean) Hyde and Mark (Melissa) Hyde, both of Lookout Mtn., GA; stepchildren, Sharon E. Sawrie, Chattanooga and Jimmy Sawrie, Jupiter, FL; grandson, Dereck Hyde, his fiancé Brooke Ferguson and her son Sydney; siblings, Billy (Martha) Hyde, Kenneth (Darlene) Hyde, and Doris Thomas; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, at Abba’s House, 5208 Hixson Pike, Hixson.
A Celebration of J.L.’s life will follow at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the church with Dr. Ron Phillips, Dr. Ronnie Phillips, and Pastor Paulette Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made in J.L.’s name to Abba’s House, Legacy 20/20 fund.
