The final Comedy improv performance for the Fall 2016 season will be Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. Second-year students in the Professional Actor Training Program present Improv comedy based on suggestions from the audience.
The Music and Theatre Departments will collaborate to present “The Secret Garden,” a Broadway musical adaptation from the classic children’s novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18 and Saturday, Nov. 19; as well as 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov 20. The Friday night performance will be captioned for audience members with hearing loss. Cost: $15 for adults, $5 for children under 12, free for Chattanooga State students, faculty and staff.
The Chattanooga State Jazz Band will present an evening of Jazz standards on Monday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. under the musical direction of Jay Stanfill. Then, on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m., a Student Applied Recital will feature students of voice and applied instrumental study.
There will be a kickoff to the holiday season at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30 as Chattanooga State’s Music Department presents an evening of carols and popular holiday favorites. The concert features performances by the Concert Choir, Symphonic Band, and Chattanooga State music faculty and students.
The Student Galleries in CAT, CETAS, and Andrews Reading and Writing Center, are still exhibiting student works. A collection of student drawings, paintings, and photographs remain on display through December.
All events are free and open to the public, and are presented at the Chattanooga State Humanities Theater. Located on the main campus, 4501 Amnicola Hwy.
