Bernice Litton, 94, of Chattanooga, died on Monday, October 24, 2016.

 

Mrs. Litton was born in Elmhurst, Il., to Louis and Martha Linneweh.  She volunteered to enlist in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps during World War II where she met her future husband and then went on to work at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville as the OBGYN department manager before moving to Chattanooga where she was a dedicated homemaker and a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. 

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Litton; brother, Louis Linneweh, Jr.; sister, Eleanor Laria; and half-brother, W. C. Schmidt.

 

Surviving is her daughter, Linda Litton; and several nephews.

 

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. 

 

Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, at the funeral home with Reverend Christopher Sheets officiating.

 

Entombment will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson.
