Soddy Daisy Golf Classic Benefited Soddy Daisy Takedown Club

Saturday dawned bright and chilly with plenty of excitement as teams checked in for the 5th Annual Soddy Daisy Trojan Golf Classic at Moccasin Bend Golf Club. Golfers enjoyed a continental breakfast prepared by members of the Soddy Daisy Takedown Club while enjoying the camaraderie inside the clubhouse in anticipation of a chance to win the $300 team prize. 

The first team to finish the round was actually the $300 winning team with a score of 56. Team members included Dustin Lewallen, Mike Allen, Rick Horne, and Carl Scarborough.  

Additional $100 cash prizes went to Zane Leffew, longest drive; Chris Guzzle, closest to pin; and Lydell Blue, putting contest.  

Door prize winners were drawn at random and players collected their prizes at the end of the tournament. Adam Norwood, golf bag umbrella; Ty Boeck, Nike golf glove; Jamie Hopson, women’s gift basket; Carl Scarborough, men’s gift basket; Mark Penny, golf tool set; Bobby Shaw and Zane Leffew, $50 Dick’s Sporting Goods certificates. Craig McClure was the raffle winner of the Igloo 120-quart Super Tough STX cooler, filled with drinks, snacks, and assorted goodies. 

The Trojan Legacy Golf Classic is the Club’s biggest fundraiser to help the team meet expenses.
