Henry Franklin Goodner, 73, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016.
He was born Nov. 13, 1942. He and his family lived in Joliet, IL for 25 years and then they moved back to Cleveland after his retirement. He attended a church of God in Joliet.
Franklin loved to come by the beauty shop and have coffee and visit with the ladies. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He had a lot of friends and family and the Salvation Army and their staff as a great part of his family and life. We the family want to thank all emergency, EMT and our own family at Companion for taking care of Franklin and our family in this time of need.
He was preceded in death by his father Curtis Goodner and mother Edith Bishop Goodner; daughter Sondra Goodner Swafford and her husband Jeff Swafford; brothers Tommy, Jimmy, Junior (June Bug) Goodner; sister Mary Goodner Hope; and brothers-in-law James Hope William Defriece and Mack Martin.
He is survived by two sons Franklin (Frankie) and Paul; ex-wife Barbara Goodner; granddaughter Tabatha and her husband Andy Evans; two grandchildren; brothers Benny and Johnny Goodner, Ronnie Goodner and wife Juanita; sisters Wilma Martin Kaylor and Ruby Defriece; sister-in-law, Barbara Goodner; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial gathering will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 29 at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. A private burial will take place later.
